Backer Marathon Mica Nozzle Heater Standard Features

  • Oxidation resistant metal sheath
  • Protective sleeving where leads exit the heater
  • Stainless steel clamping strap with barrel nuts and 6-32 screw
  • 10" High temperature leads with our without SS braid covering
  • 1" to 3" diameters available
  • 1" to 6" widths available
  • Also available in low profile wedgelock construction
  • High temperature oxidation resistant metal sheath  
  • Highest grade mica insulation provides excellent electrical insulation at high temperatures and is resistant to moisture.
  • Clamping band is low thermal expansion stainless steel construction designed to maintain clamping pressure at elevated temperatures.
  • Nickel/Chromium resistance wire evenly wound for uniform heat distribution and reliable accuracy.
  • Standard 10” fiberglass leadwires are UL rated and provide protection up to 850 degrees F.
  • Approximately 1/8” thick.
  • One Piece: Standard One Piece construction available for nozzle heaters

  • Termination: We offer a lead temination for nozzle heaters
    • Standard fiberglass or teflon leads available in lengths between 1 and 10 ft. 
    • Standard leads exit both sides of gap. (L1 termination)
       
  • Lead Protection: The only lead protection available for nozzle heaters is SS braid.  Stainless Steel braid offer both flexibility and abrasion protection.
    • SS Braid exits both sides of gap. (B1 termination)
    • SS Braid will be 2" shorter than leads
  • Clamping: Nozzle heaters are offered with standard strap clamping or low profile wedge lock up. 
    • Standard low thermal expansion alloy strap to tighten around whole heater circumference, allowing for maximum contact between heater and working surface.  Standard strap width is 1/2".
    • Wedge mount is ideal for low profile clearance, and when access is limited.Standard wedge exit is out each side of gap and an 1/8" clearance is required.
